Educational Outreach

In his work with young musicians, William Buhidar is an active clinician/consultant and adjudicator for youth orchestras and ensembles. He has been a UIL Regional Orchestra guest conductor and a consultant for UIL competitions preparation, having guest conducted the TMEA Region 14 and 28 All-Region Orchestras and the TMTA Annual Concerto Concert featuring young solo artists.

Outreach, both to youth and adults, is an area William Buhidar considers of critical importance for building concert audiences. He also has successfully caught the attention of younger audiences by presenting symphonic music in unique music/drama settings. The Texas Commission on the Arts and The Coastal Bend Foundation funded several of these presentations, which have included “Toys in the Attic”, “L’Ouvo di Colombo”, and “Music in Space and Time”.
